              Am I Blue?

After reading Am I Blue,by Bruce Coville,I believe that gay people shouldn't hide for who they are, just because they're afraid what other people will think. People should just accept who they are. They think everyone is equal, like its wrong to be gay, but deep inside them, they're just as gay as the next person. They just don't know it yet. For example, when Vincent, the main character gets the gaydar, a automatic sensing system that lets you know that person is gay or not, he sees everyone blue which indicates that they're gay. Even he has blue on himself. See, not everyone is who they think they are. Even Bruce Carrigan, the bully who beats up Vincent almost everyday, is gay, because he trying to act tough , to hide the feeling that he is secretly gay, but, guess what buddy? everyone else all around you is gay.

Another example is when Melvin, the fairy godfather says to Vincent that he had the same problem when he was young, he was beaten up everyday just because he was different from society, and that is how he got turned into a fairy godfather, because of the problem that Vincent is facing right now. He even says to him, that "I walk and talk because I'm not going to let anyone else define me", he means that people who thinks they're not gay shouldn't control their lives. They should be proud for who they are. Its nice to have some diversity  It's boring to be the same all the time. Normal is overrated. Gay people are a special kind of people. They should be with the one they love.

At the end he, Vincent, truly accepts the way he is , with the help of his godfather, Melvin and the gaydar, and his three wishes. The first one was used on his coffee, the second one was used on to turn everyone ,coast to coast, blue to see what people make of it. Soon they figured it out. And his last wish was to turn Butch into blue, but he has still one more wish to go, because he was already blue the next day when he saw him. Vincent decided to accept the truth, after all this time. Since everyone else is gay.so in the end he wants to use his last wish on a guy thats perfect for him.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians:The Last Olympian

I just finished reading the last book of the Percy Jackson series, and that was a very good ending to the series. I know that Rick Riordan is making another series continuing after this one, but out of all the books of the series, this book was my favorite, not because the war between the Gods and the titans, but that was pretty suspenseful, but overall, the book made me see what the Greek Gods were like at that time. For example, the cause of the entire war was about a lot of demigods, who felt abandoned by their parents. They felt angry, resentful and unloved. It makes me think that the Gods were too busy to see what their own kids are doing, like wreaking havoc in the mortal world. It also makes me think that they have a good reason to be mad. I mean I wouldn't like it if my my mother or father had abandoned me when I was young. Would you like it if that was you?

And another example of what the Gods were at that time was Zeus, the God of thunder, Poseidon, the God of the sea, and Hades, the God of the dead, made a big pact not to have kids anymore, so they wouldn't have to worry about their kid making a decision of the entire fate of the gods, well, that didn't work anyway, because all of them broke their pact almost immediately. It made me think that the Gods were not trustworthy. And they shouldn't leave their kids undetermined, I mean that they waited basically almost their whole lives to know who their mother of father is.They have been unwise to ignore their children. It was just that reason that almost caused their destruction.

The main character Percy thinks that, even after three thousand years, Gods can still change their nature. I'm not sure I believe that. It was because of the Gods that they were almost wiped out of the Western civilization, it was because of the Gods so many demigods are dead. It was because of the gods that Kronos almost destroyed Olympus. After everything that happened, it was the gods fault. And he thinks that the gods can change their nature. I have to say that Percy has great spirit to people that caused the destruction that almost destroyed the world.

           THE HOST

After I had read the book, The Host by Stephanie Meyer, I was amazed at how a simple book had moved me. It was about a world of souls that take over the human race. Then there was this one soul, named Wander, nicknamed Wanda,, has a human host like no other. In fact this human host can actually talk to her after falling off an elevator shaft, to save her family from insertion. Then she goes on an adventure to find her family, and when she does she is treated  like a prisoner, the exact opposite that Wanda and Mel thought. But after a couple of days she gets more and more comfortable in the space Jeb, the owner of the house,Ian who has a crush on Wanda , and Jared, who was until, recently, Mel's boyfriend, and Jaime, who was Mel's brother. After two deaths, she realizes she cannot stay here- well, not in this body because there is no space for both of them, Mel and Wanda. And so, like all the other times before, she is going to another planet where there aren't any resistance.Wanda thought that was the end of her ninth life, but they bring her back in the end, and Melanie is back in her body.

This book had changed me for a reader. The moral of this story was to never take life for granted even if your life was taken by someone else. This was a suspenseful book, it had such a climax in each of the chapter, my favorite climax was when Wanda decided to give herself up for the seeker's life, a seeker is basically a soul's guardian, they take care of the soul. The saddest part was when Walter died and they had to give him an overdose of morphine and the funeral. I almost cried at that part, and again at the part when Wes was killed by Wanda's seeker. And at the very last part when Wanda decided to give herself up. I almost thought that was the end of the book, but they brought her back to life. And happily ever after.
